• 1981 Technology development at Kennametal’s research laboratories
• 1984 Technology publicly demonstrated at exhibitions in Europe and North America
• 1986 Product development and release for industrial and commercial use
• 1990 Kennametal spins-off the monitoring technology group.  Montronix, Inc. is formed in Raleigh, NC, USA
• 1996 Acceptance by major automotive companies worldwide results in standardization for new equipment programs
• 1998 European R& D center opened in Hamburg, Germany
• 2001 Growth Finance acquires Montronix worldwide
