BV100 Vibration Sensor from Montronix

The BV100 detects mechanical vibrations and high-frequency structure-borne sound signals with an exceptional bandwidth up to 500 kHz. This makes it perfect for detecting tool breakage, collisions, and spindle faults. In combination with the TSVA2-DGM amplifier and the SPECTRA™ system, it offers a robust, retrofittable solution for intelligent real-time machine monitoring.

Montronix SPECTRA™ systems

Our customers most frequently use the BV100 in machining centers, grinding machines, and automated lines. The sensor is also successfully used in underwater pump systems. In around 80 percent of all applications, the BV100 is the right solution for vibration monitoring.

Technical Strengths of the BV100 Vibration Sensor

The BV100 vibration sensor measures vibration velocity directly on the machine. It detects critical vibrations during operation and sends an analog signal to a Montronix evaluation unit. The sensor works independently of the control system and is also suitable for older systems.

Response time under 1 millisecond

The BV100 detects vibrations in a flash and immediately sends an analog stop signal to the control or evaluation unit.

Direct signal transmission without software

The vibration sensor requires no configuration. SpectraNG oder Spectra ONE evaluate the analog output signal directly.

Robust design for harsh industrial environments

The housing is protected against oil, dust, and temperature stress. The BV100 is suitable for continuous operation in machining centers, grinding machines, and special systems.

Flexible mounting on any machine structure

The sensor can be screwed or attached with magnetic feet. This allows you to position it precisely where vibrations occur.

Use independent of machine type and year of manufacture

The BV100 also works in older machine parks. It operates without control system and is therefore ideal for retrofit projects or retrofit solutions.

Our Services

  • Consulting and on-site test deployment
We analyze your machine, recommend the mounting location, and, if desired, accompany a test installation under real conditions.
  • Integration into new and existing systems
The vibration sensor works without control system connection. You connect the sensor to one of our evaluation units and start monitoring.
  • Development of individual solutions
For special machines or extreme conditions, we offer customized sensor solutions. Combinations with power sensors or force sensors are also possible.

Your Advantages When Using the BV100 Vibration Sensor

Machine protection against failures

Our vibration sensors detect vibrations in the process and immediately report critical conditions. The BV100 sends a stop signal in under 1 millisecond if a threshold is exceeded. This prevents consequential damage to the spindle, tool holder, or workpiece.

Optimization of tool life

With real-time monitoring, you detect incipient wear before tools break or dimensional deviations occur. The sensor provides reliable data directly from the machine.

Reduction of scrap

Irregular vibrations often lead to defective parts. Our sensors immediately report any deviation. This ensures consistent quality, even during long runtimes or changing materials.

Relief for operating personnel

The sensor system takes over monitoring automatically in the background. Even with inexperienced personnel in shift operation, the process remains stable. The BV100 reacts immediately, independent of the operator.

FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions about the BV100 Vibration Sensor

How can the BV100 be mounted?

You attach the sensor directly to the machine – either with screws or with magnetic feet. We select the position together with you to suit the application. Suitable locations are, for example, the spindle housing, tool holder, or machine bed. Installation takes just a few minutes and requires no special devices.

Is the BV100 also suitable for older machines?

Yes, the sensor works independently of the control system. You only need a suitable evaluation unit such as IBU Plus or Spectra ONE. This means the sensor can also be used in machine parks with mixed years of manufacture. No conversion of the existing system is required.

What happens if the sensor detects critical vibrations?

As soon as the sensor exceeds a defined vibration threshold, it sends a signal to the control or evaluation unit. The evaluation unit assesses the situation and immediately initiates the appropriate response. The machine can stop automatically or generate a warning message. This prevents damage or subsequent errors in the process.

What vibrations can the sensor detect?

The BV100 detects various types of vibrations: from imbalances to incipient bearing damage to sudden tool breakage. It measures vibration velocity and outputs this as an analog signal. This allows both slow changes and abrupt events to be reliably recorded. Interpretation is carried out by the connected evaluation unit.
